The first morning session, commencing at 10.00am, sees the Sommeliers taking part in a first round written exam, blind wine tasting and wine pairing supervised by members of Italian Sommelier Association (AIS).  

From this, the contestants are whittled down to three semi-finalists. 
In the afternoon, from 4.30pm, the semi-finalists will be asked to perform on stage the best service possible, to role-playing customers, made up of VIP importers, wine buyers, journalists, Master Mixologists & bloggers sat at tables as if dining.  
Judging the performance, we will have Masters of Wine, journalists, wine experts and AIS board members including, Christopher Walkey, David Bird, Anthony Rose, Roberto Bellini. 

The winner will be rewarded with £1000 prize offered by UKSA.
The host for the event will be Mr. Joe Fattorini.  Joe is known around the world as "Obi Wine Kenobi", the expert presenter on The Wine Show.  For the last 20 years Joe has sold wine to restaurants, hotels, bars and celebrity weddings as one of the UK's leading wine merchants. Today Joe guides 250 million viewers in 107 countries through The Wine Show, as well as wine lovers at sea as an ambassador to Celebrity Cruises. 
"Consorzio di tutela dei Vini della Valpolicella”, another sponsor of the event, will award one of the sommeliers with the Communication special prize that consists of taking part in the University of Verona on the next VEP (Valpolicella Education Program).
