Italy is currently the no.1 wine exporting and producing country in the world, as well as being the most imported into the UK. Anyone in the wine industry and any wine lover cannot ignore this focal wine country. This course will be extremely beneficial to both wine industry professionals (servers, Sommeliers, sales reps, educators) and wine enthusiasts, who are interested in the ever-growing vast and opportunity-packed world of Italian wine.

The course consists of 4 evening classes, spread over three weeks, with a final certificate, issued by the UK Sommelier Association. This class will deeply and truly explore all 20 wine regions of Italy, their wine laws, regulations, grape varietals, traditions, trends, history, typicality as well as key characteristics and will include a brief overview of cuisine and culture.

CENTRAL ITALY - Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Umabria, Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio
TASTING: 6 wines

SOUTHERN ITALY AND ISLANDS - Molise, Apulia, Basilicata, Campania, Calabria, Sicily, Sardinia.
TASTING: 6 wines

For each lesson, the evening will consist of:
- Presentation of each region.
- Major wine producing areas, vines and wines, and local food products.
- Tutored tasting of  6 wines from those regions, with both AIS analytical-descriptive tasting sheet and score-form.

You will also receive 'The World Atlas of Wine' by Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson, an E-book about Italian wines, grape varieties and classifications.
