Roberto Bellini

Roberto Bellini was born in Marradi, Tuscany, in the foothills of the Apennines. Despite being born in such a renowned province for producing some of Italy's finest wines, there is no wine in his life until a chance encounter in a winery in the province of Siena in 1977. Here he learns the first rudiments of viticulture and oenology, and is bitten by the wine lover bug that leads him to attend AIS Sommelier courses, where he graduates in 1983.

A brief visit to Champagne in France, and you could say it's love at first sight. Roberto becomes fascinated and captivated by it.  This passion for Champagne becomes a reality graduating as Champagne Ambassador in 2005, winning the first European competition organised by the 'Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne'.

Wine slowly penetrates into his his every fibre, and becomes an AIS teacher, developing an educational path that leads him to Vice President of the Association of Italian Sommeliers (AIS) and president of the Wine Academy in Japan. Writer of several books on Champagne, Roberto delivers charming lectures that captures the attention of the audience.
